Epic Pharmacy Analyst

Job Description Summary Supports the vision of OhioHealth as it relates to the incorporation of system support for the medication safety process. Serves in a leadership role in the application lifecycle for the assigned medication related clinical applications, including system evaluation, development of new applications (requirements, design, build and test), and application maintenance (deployment, operations and optimization). Collaborates with user departments to identify, analyze and support ongoing needs while achieving Service Level Agreements (SLAs) relative to the supported applications. Leads or participates in process improvement activities related to Application Management. Responsibilities and Duties 10% Leads teams in projects to identify system requirements, including functional, non-functional and usability requirements for pharmacy and medication use applications based on the organization’s business needs. 10% Serves in a leadership role for minor enhancements or upgrades to existing applications, and documents functional and technical specifications for system enhancements and new interfaces. 10% Leads communications or coordination with vendors regarding new enhancements or new functionality. 10% Combines process improvement techniques with system knowledge to contribute as a team member to the design of pharmacy and medication use applications, including business process and feature specifications. 15% Takes a leadership role with project teams to build pharmacy and/or medication use applications, leading installation of new software releases and application upgrades. 10% Leads team members to test pharmacy and medication use applications, preparing test scripts, using automated software, and performing unit, volume, integration, claims parallel, device, and other testing methods. Fully documents test results, issues, software defects, and problems detected during testing, and takes initiative to resolve them. 5% Actively leads teams to deploy pharmacy and medication use applications, handling system activations, command center charge, prioritizing and escalating problems, and delivering applications to end users. 20% Delivers day‑to‑day operations, using analytical skills to complete end‑user requests for support or changes, responding to incidents, troubleshooting problems, building, testing, and communicating changes, performing departmental needs analysis, contributing to performance monitoring and capacity planning, and managing incident escalation to vendors or management. 15% Leads special interest groups to optimize use of assigned applications, proactively assists end users, and analyzes service level performance to improve service levels. 10% Serves as a liaison to pharmacy, nursing and other departments supporting needs related to pharmacy and medication use information systems. 5% Supports the change management process by submitting, executing, and documenting changes appropriately and communicating changes to impacted areas. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (required) OPL – Ohio Pharmacists License (Ohio Board of Pharmacy) CIF – Certified in Field (State of Ohio) Field of study: Business or Pharmacy 1 to 3 years of experience in systems analysis, pharmacy or other healthcare settings Specialized knowledge of pharmacy degree, certification in Pharmaceutical Care, and familiarity with computer systems, pharmacy and medication use operations Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Project and Visio Work shift: Day; scheduled weekly hours: 40 Department: IS Applications Equal Employment Opportunity OhioHealth is an equal opportunity employer and fully supports and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
