Technicians primarily work at a wind site location near home and operate as part of a service team to ensure safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance.This position reports directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during assignments.Technicians are responsible for performing all preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment safely and efficiently. This includes maintaining and repairing machinery or components used primarily in power generation applications such as turbines and generators.Note: You are not certified to perform work inside any cabinet/controller without direct supervision from a certified Electrical Technician.Additional duties may be assigned to support customer needs and to help advance Sky Climber's mission, values, and long-term vision.This is a full-time paid employment opportunity with all training provided upon hire, including:Basic Safety Training (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Fall Protection)Tower Safety Training (e.g., high-angle rescue or wind tower rescue)Technical Training (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems)QualificationsRequired QualificationsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States (Sky Climber does not provide sponsorships)High School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record checkAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningAbility to read, write, and understand EnglishSuccessful completion of a climb preview prior to hirePreferred Qualifications & ExperienceAssociate's degree in a technical mechanical field, wind energy discipline, or equivalent technical experienceMechanical or electrical backgroundAbility to read and interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematicsResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety proceduresPerform basic mechanical installations, maintenances, operations, and upgradesVerify that the work is completed in compliance with customer's requirementsPerform work based on established work procedures.Document all work performedReport policy or procedure violationSubmit progress reportsRepair or replace partsPossess knowledge about specific activity tools and be able to use them safelyOccasionally work independently on a component as part of an equipment maintenance project.Dismantle and assemble basic machinery, components, equipment, or toolingTravel as required (up to 25%)Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignmentsAbility and willingness to work at heights and in all weather conditionsAbility to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and clear driving record (e.g., No suspensions or restrictions, DWI, DWAI, OWI, OUI)
