Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Job Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting the operations of a BioLife Plasma Center in Columbus, OH. The role reports to the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and evaluation of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results. Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings and medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents, evaluating the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER and following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate degree from a recognized nursing program with state licensure. Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of assignment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Basic IV therapy training satisfying state requirements. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
