Fire Protection Engineer

Position Overview As a Fire Protection Engineer at Jacobs, you will work with a robust staff of experienced and licensed engineers to design and deliver challenging building projects across various markets and regions. Responsibilities The Engineer will direct the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification systems, and building/life safety code analysis. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology, or a related discipline. At least 10 years of related professional experience. Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa. Preferred qualifications Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards. Willingness to travel to job sites worldwide (estimate around 10–15% travel). Experience with fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm system layout utilizing hydraulic calculation programs and knowledge of NFPA, International Building, and Fire Codes. Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state, having passed the fire protection engineering examination. Salary and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $95,200.00 to $172,850.00. Factors such as location and level of experience will be considered.
