Employees in this job classification are required to perform the daily operation of the laundry at assigned campus. Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to read and write and have communication skills necessary to converse with various types of persons Valid Texas Driver's License Special Knowledge/Skills: Basic knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Experience: General knowledge of field

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Direct all phases of laundry service necessary to meet the needs of the district including picking up and delivery scheduling, washing and using proper washing methods.
• Must be willing to work with changing assignment.
• Responsible for meeting performance standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well organized facility and work area.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs and/or maintenance as directed.
• Responsible for reporting needed repairs in an orderly manner.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with Beaumont Independent School District Board of Education policies and administrative regulations.
• Maintain a high personal standard in the following areas: attitude, cooperation, dependability, judgment, initiative, self-improvement and as a role model for students.

Equipment Used: Washing machine, dryers, vacuums, floor machine, buffers, and other cleaning equipment

Working Conditions:

• Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress Work with frequent interruptions
• Physical Demands: Heavy lifting with minimum floor to knuckle lift of 125 lbs. Substantial amount of walking, standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, squatting
• Environmental Demands: Work outside and inside: exposure to hot and cold temperatures, and exposure to excessive humidity Exposure to a fumes from bleach and detergents Working on ladders May be required to work at night or protracted hours Subject to reassignment as directed
