The Associate Director contributes, in part, to the successful execution of 100+ annual events that unite and celebrate our vibrant donor community and raise $20M+ annually to support the mission of Mass General Brigham.The Associate Director supports the events team by contributing to the strategy, planning, and execution of both high-profile and mid-tier events. This role balances strategic input with hands-on operational management.Essential Functions•Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of assigned events, with ownership of timelines, budgets, and outcomes; provide planning and on-site leadership for larger events led by other team members.•Manage vendor relationships, negotiate and oversee contracts, and ensure compliance with budget and service standards.•Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders to align event strategy with broader organizational goals.•Lead cross-functional collaboration with development communications, fundraising, IS, and finance teams to maximize event success.•Oversee post-event evaluation and reporting, identifying insights and improvements to inform future event planning.•Manage vendor invoices, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.•Maintain detailed event records, support budget forecasting, and oversee documentation for audit readiness.•Provide leadership and backup event management across the Events team to ensure continuity and quality.•Serve as a key point of escalation for event-related issues, providing solutions and risk mitigation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required and 5-7 years of client-facing or relationship-building experience, ideally in a fundraising office. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and competencies:Strong verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational, time management, problem solving and project management skillsCommand of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, or the ability to learn them quicklyCompetency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred)Proficiency with data entry or data management in a database (Blackbaud CRM or Raiser’s Edge preferred)Attention to detail, creativity and strong work ethicDesire and motivation to learn about the organization and fundraisingAwareness of personal work styles in self and othersAdaptability and flexibility in times of shifting prioritiesAbility to work collaboratively with diverse audiencesMission drivenAbility to complete assigned projects and tasks independently or with minimal guidanceAdditional Job Details (if applicable)The target salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000.
