Financial Reporting Accountant

The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy of external financial statements and regulatory filings for a publicly traded company. This role supports quarterly and annual reporting, technical accounting research, SOX compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and external auditors. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and support SEC filings , including 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K, earnings releases, and related footnotes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Assist with quarterly and annual close activities , including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and consolidation support. Perform technical accounting research and assist in drafting accounting memos for new transactions, standards, and policies. Maintain and enhance internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements; support testing and documentation of key controls. Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing schedules, support, and documentation. Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for equity, debt, leases, revenue, and other key financial statement areas. Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and Operations to gather data, validate reporting inputs, and ensure alignment across the organization. Support XBRL tagging and review processes for SEC filings. Assist with accounting for complex transactions , including equity compensation, acquisitions, divestitures, and debt arrangements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives , including automation, reporting enhancements, and process optimization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 1–3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) or public‑company financial reporting. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
