In the role of Fire Alarm Inspector 3, you will demonstrate a high level of expertise and proficiency in inspection and testing of fire alarm systems. You will lead inspections of complex fire alarm systems, their components and interconnected systems, mentor junior technicians, and assume a more autonomous role in inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. Security Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required. Responsibilities Lead and oversee comprehensive inspections and advanced testing of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with NFPA 72 and local standards. Test and troubleshoot initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components, addressing malfunctions or deficiencies. Conduct inspections and testing of interconnected systems, including elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, tamper switches, flows, and smoke control systems. Conduct inspections, testing and preventive maintenance of VESDA systems. Participate in routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fire alarm systems as needed. Document all service activities, including inspection results and repairs, and complete testing reports with noted deficiencies. Conduct site surveys for fire alarm system inspection, testing and maintenance, develop labor projections and schedules, and perform pre‑testing and final acceptance testing with the Fire Marshal. Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers for accurate quoting of recommended repairs. Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality service delivery, and customer satisfaction in all service activities. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, actively contributing to project tasks and fostering a positive learning environment. Stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes to uphold compliance and industry standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED with minimum of 3+ years related experience. Technology degree with 1+ year related experience. Certification Possess NICET I and II in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems or pass exam within 90 days of employment. NICET III (preferred). Additional Requirements Position is subject to an additional customer background check. This position will require up to 15% travel throughout the United States. Physical Abilities Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance. Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders. Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Possess good vision (may be corrected) and the ability to see in color and hear and communicate in English. May use a standard ladder while not exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
