Software Development Engineer

Position Summary Designs, develops, and implements digital solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects. Key Responsibilities Design and define the technical architecture and infrastructure required for digital solutions. Write code, develop software components, and implement complex functionalities per project requirements. Collaborate with development team and stakeholders to make high‑level architectural decisions, propose design patterns, and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability. Leverage advanced programming skills to design and implement complex features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency. Integrate various software components or systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability. Write and execute comprehensive test cases, conduct code reviews, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability, stability, and high quality. Participate in agile or other development methodologies, attend meetings, contribute to project planning, and help drive progress and success. Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation. Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant materials, and share knowledge with team members. Travel at least 10% of the time to office, conferences, on‑sites/off‑sites, and other events as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, async programming patterns, object‑oriented design, parallel programming). Proficiency with at least one popular programming language (.NET, GoLang, or Java) and SQL constructs (PostGres, Snowflake, MS SQL). Experience writing and maintaining frontend client applications; Angular preferred. Experience with revision control (Git) and cloud‑based systems (Azure, AWS, GCP). High level understanding of big data design (data lake, data mesh, data warehouse) and data normalization patterns. Experience with queuing technologies (Kafka, SNS, RabbitMQ, etc.). Experience with metrics, logging, monitoring and alerting tools. Strong communication skills. Experience with RESTful APIs and AKKA messaging technology. Understanding of system deployment tasks and technologies (CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform). Preferred Qualifications Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP). AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. Bachelor's degree or specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
