Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Pool at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital located in Edina, MN. About the Critical Care Float Pool at Southdale Hospital As a RN on our team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in multiple units! You will float to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Department (ED). In a less frequent capacity - may float to Neuro, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, and IMC units. There may be additional opportunity to cross train more areas if needs dictate, such as Post-Partum, EmPath, Endoscopy, etc. We are looking for an engaging, standout colleague who is able to multitask optimally and connect with our wonderful, strong team of dedicated nurses! Schedule This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift (7pm–7:30am). This position will also work a rotation for every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The RN role offers an additional $2.00/hour for being in the Float Pool. As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for: Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes Developing an individualized nursing plan of care Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes Promoting a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act Responsibilities Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care. Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care. Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP).
