Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Develop and establish a positive, trusting rapport with patients by employing effective communication techniques and active listening skills. \n
- Diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders based on established best practices for mental health therapy. \n
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each patient, taking into account their personal backgrounds and challenges. \n
- Conduct regular counseling sessions, both individually and with couples or families, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal progress. \n
- Perform ongoing assessments of patient progress and make necessary modifications to treatment plans, documenting observations and adjustments. \n
- Collaborate with other specialists to ensure comprehensive care, referring clients as needed for additional services or support. \n
- Maintain a thorough understanding of best practices concerning mental health treatment and integrate these methodologies into your daily work. \n
Your work will focus on a diverse clientele, including individuals struggling with emotional challenges, couples facing relational issues, and families seeking guidance. The aim is to empower clients to lead healthier lifestyles through effective therapeutic practices. By using tailored techniques and evidence-based approaches, you will help clients address issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relational conflicts.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia. \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. \n
- Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling is highly preferred, as it would enhance your ability to assist clients facing substance use disorders. \n
- A solid understanding of evidence-based practices for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. \n
- Exceptional therapeutic and counseling skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire clients towards positive change. \n

- Experience working in outpatient therapy settings with a diverse patient population. \n
