RN - ICU

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions in a comprehensive accredited stroke unit. The nurse will manage a patient population that includes those with hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages (SAH), aneurysms, vascular malformations, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries (SCI), and various neuro surgical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological conditions.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and participate in emergency interventions.
• Administer medications, including thrombolytics and sedation as required.
• Manage patients with external ventricular drains (EVD) and perform craniotomies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 2 years of strong Neuro ICU experience.
• Current RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience in managing external ventricular drains (EVD) and craniotomy procedures is essential.
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; candidates must pass a competency test.
