Commodity Manager IIWesterman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.SUMMARYThe Commodity Manager II is responsible for supporting the Vice President, Supply Chain, with the overall procurement process for designated commodities throughout all our locations. We are looking for an experienced Commodity Manager to take on a key role in developing and implementing Sourcing Strategies and Strategic agreements within the designated commodities (steel, fabrication, electrical instrumentation, etc.) that facilitate Lean procurement principles and optimize the capability, value, and flexibility of the Westerman supply chain. The Commodity Manager II is expected to mentor other Commodity Managers and purchasing personnel. You must be a results-driven individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, keen attention to detail, and can influence across the organization and the supply base with the desire to make a difference.RESPONSIBILITIESRegular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent work experience requiredMinimum of 3 years Commodity Manager I experience or equivalent role that included price negotiation requiredDemonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system requirements requiredBroad knowledge of manufacturing processes, key market indicators, and suppliers associated with raw materials, mechanical parts, and assemblies requiredAbility to comprehend part requirements and specifications and communicate effectively and clearly to internal and external customers (suppliers, engineers, customers, etc.) requiredProven ability to develop and execute structured action plans that achieve organizational goals requiredStrong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a wider team to deliver results requiredDemonstrated positive supplier management/engagement experience requiredStrong organizational and process development/optimization skills requiredExtreme attention to detail requiredCustomer-oriented focus with ability to be creative in providing solutions requiredStrong negotiation skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills requiredStrong Microsoft Office knowledge and accurate data entry skills requiredAbility to prepare material and present to groups requiredAbility to travel 20% of the time required; clean driving record is requiredHands-on knowledge of ERP systems in an engineered-to-order business model preferredProfessional certification such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent supply chain certifications preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
