Description

The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120-bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing andrehabilitative care exclusively to Kentucky's Veterans. Proudly operated by the Kentucky Department ofVeterans Affairs, EKVC was built with a single purpose, to honor and care for those who have served ournation.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. Thisposition provides professional nursing care to our Veteran residents while working closely with physicians,nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to meet each resident's individual needs. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assess resident needs and plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care
• Provide direct professional nursing care to Veteran residents
• Monitor resident conditions and promptly identify and report changes or concerns
• Coordinate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident care needs
• Provide guidance and direction to nursing support staff in the delivery of resident care
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
• Communicate clinical issues and resident updates to appropriate personnel
• Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate nursing interventions
• Participate in staff education and serve as a preceptor during new employee orientation
• Promote a safe, supportive, and resident-centered care environment
• Perform other related duties as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to hazards common in hospitals or institutional settings which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
