Our rail and transportation team provides deep industry, market, and regulatory expertise to North America’s freight railroads and other transportation clients. We build sophisticated costing and pricing models, evaluate our clients’ key commercial and contractual relationships, assess competitive markets and asset values in support of transactions, and develop expert testimony before courts, arbitration panels, and regulatory bodies such as the Surface Transportation Board — helping carriers evaluate transactions, defend the reasonableness of their rates and services, negotiate contracts, quantify damages in disputes, and maximize the value of their network assets. What You’ll DoA Senior Consultant is responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing information to develop solutions for clients. In addition, the candidate will assist team leaders by providing analytic support and drafting for advisory services across a wide range of industries. In addition, the position requires the development of written reports explaining the procedures employed. An individual that succeeds in the position will be able to work independently and to take initiative in solving problems that are faced on a day-to-day basis, continually striving to ensure quality output that can withstand the scrutiny of regulators and other stakeholders.The ideal candidate will have:Strong analytic and quantitative skills, including economic modeling, cost and pricing analysis, and/or transportation network modeling experience.Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets, and to build reproducible, well-documented analysis.Ability to write memoranda to describe the procedures employed to complete tasks and to summarize the results of research or analysis.Solid communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to clients and staff within and outside of the firm.Ability to support and direct communication with clients and staff members on engagements, while updating senior team members on progress and issues.Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients across functions.A positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude.Resilience and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.Outstanding problem-solving and analytic skills.Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.How You’ll Grow We are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities.
