Project Manager 2 / Construction Superintendent - Nuclear Facilities (DOE/LANL)Location: Los Alamos, NM (100% Onsite - TA-55 Plant) Compensation: $61-$66/hrSchedule: 4/10s - Rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and graveyardCitizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required Clearance: Active DOE Q Clearance required - TS/SCI equivalency consideredWHY THIS ROLEThere are very few places in the world where construction work directly supports national security at this level. Los Alamos National Laboratory's TA-55 facility is one of them - a high-security nuclear plant where the projects you manage have real mission consequence. If you've spent your career building the skills to operate in exactly this kind of environment, this role was built for you.This is a hybrid PM/Superintendent position, meaning you won't be confined to a project management office or the construction floor - you'll own both. You'll serve as a Control Account Manager, lead constructability reviews, manage budgets and schedules using EVMS, and provide direct construction oversight on projects up to $500K. You'll work alongside world-class scientists and engineers in one of the nation's most unique and consequential operational environments, on a 4/10 rotating schedule with competitive hourly compensation.WHAT YOU'LL DOLead and manage construction projects up to $500K and oversee Superintendent 2sServe as Control Account Manager (CAM) - manage budget, schedule, and scope performance using EVMSPresent project performance plans, status updates, and trends to federal sponsorsConduct investigations into abnormal events and develop corrective action plansPerform variance analysis and develop corrective action plans for cost and schedule variancesLead constructability reviews and interface with program, project, and line management stakeholdersEnsure compliance with safety, security, and configuration management requirementsInterpret blueprints, drawings, and mechanical and electrical schematicsCoordinate materials, track job activities, and manage vendor and supplier relationships using computerized work management systemsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORActive DOE Q Clearance or active TS/SCI equivalency at time of application10+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, or construction5+ years managing construction projects with scope, schedule, and budget oversightDemonstrated EVMS experience including CAM responsibilitiesConstruction experience within a nuclear, DOE, or similarly regulated high-security facilityAbility to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematicsWillingness to work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and graveyard as requiredAbility to meet physical demands: lifting, standing, stair climbingDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSDegree in engineering, construction management, or a related scientific or technical disciplinePrior experience at a DOE national laboratory or NNSA facilityFamiliarity with LANL project governance frameworks and DOE regulatory requirementsExperience managing multi-trade construction projects in confined or controlled-access environmentsPMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certificationMANDATORY REQUIREMENTS - READ BEFORE APPLYINGMust be a U.S. Citizen - required for Q Clearance eligibility, no exceptionsMust hold an active DOE Q Clearance or active TS/SCI equivalency at time of application - ability to obtain is NOT sufficientMust have 10+ years of construction, engineering, or procurement experienceMust have 5+ years of direct construction project management with EVMS/CAM experienceMust have construction experience in a nuclear or equivalently regulated high-security facilityMust be willing to work rotating shifts including graveyard - this is a hard requirement, not optional
