Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours Guaranteed per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric medical/surgical patients on an 18-bed unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Manage common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, and end-of-life/hospice care
• Operate and monitor equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
• Document and manage patient records using Cerner EHR
• Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units, accepting med/surg level patients
• Serve as a strong patient advocate and collaborative team member on a high-acuity, fast-paced floor

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EHR
• Demonstrated IV competency
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience
• Experience with wound care, hospice/end-of-life care, or high-acuity medical/surgical populations
