Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. Role will conceptualize, execute, and ensure quality throughout the design process to meet our clients’ needs and expectations.Your Key ResponsibilitiesComprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.Manage the complete design and scope of services for each project; review the timeline and hours budgeted; identify any inconsistencies and address them with the client and Project ManagerDelegate the designing of engineering subsystems to team members in their disciplineManage and deliver the detailed design of the entire engineering system; apply extensive knowledge of building codes and standards; perform equipment selectionManage technical risk, quality, and avoid redesign.Coordinate with other disciplines ensuring all automation and controls-related work is incorporated into the design.Follows Stantec’s quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority.Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.Equipped to analyze, problem solve, and train others; organized and attentive to detail; flexible and collaborative.Participate in the preparation, review, and approval of RFPs response content and pricing.Able to independently resolve complex problems within the engineer’s discipline.Acts as supervisor and resource to technical design team; supports and assists staff education and development.Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attends meetings / seminars / conferences and/or write articles for trade magazines.)Your Capabilities and CredentialsComprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.Able to conceptualize and develop solutions for multifaceted systems and interactions with varied disparate components.Strong communicator who effectively conveys scope, schedule, and budget to clients, co-workers, and technical teams (e.g. work plan, statement of work, and 2-way communication.)Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.Equipped to analyze, problem solve, and train others; organized and attentive to detail; flexible and collaborative.Able to independently resolve complex problems within the engineer’s discipline.Education and ExperienceAccredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.Minimum 10 years related industry experienceRegistered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification based on expertise preferred.Experience in engineering design, consulting, or other facets of DDC or PLC industry for tenant improvement projects, new construction buildings, central plant work, existing facility upgrades or related markets.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
