Cardiovascular Sonographer

The Cardiovascular Sonographer at WakeMed Cardiology in Cary plays an important role in providing high-quality cardiovascular imaging and an exceptional experience for our patients. In this highly visible practice, you'll perform a variety of echocardiographic and vascular studies, using your clinical expertise and ultrasound technology to capture accurate, quality images and assist with preliminary reporting. This role is a great fit for an experienced sonographer who is confident working independently, adapts well to change, and enjoys collaborating with a team focused on delivering excellent patient care.

What You'll Do

• Perform a variety of cardiovascular ultrasound studies, including:
• Echocardiograms
• Stress echocardiograms
• Arterial Doppler studies
• Abdominal aorta Doppler studies
• Venous Doppler studies
• Venous insufficiency studies
• Additional cardiovascular and vascular studies as needed
• Use ultrasound equipment to visualize and record high-quality images of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Complete preliminary reports accurately and efficiently for provider review.
• Work independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with providers and team members.
• Recognize challenges, take initiative, and proactively identify solutions to support an efficient practice.
• Adapt to changing patient volumes, priorities, workflows, and the evolving needs of the practice.
• Maintain a strong focus on patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout each interaction.
• Follow established clinical guidelines, departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Who We're Looking For

• An experienced Cardiovascular Sonographer with proficiency in both echocardiographic and vascular studies.
• Someone comfortable independently performing studies and completing preliminary reports.
• A confident, adaptable professional who can work successfully in a busy, highly visible cardiology practice.

• A dependable and accountable team member who follows through on commitments.

• A sonographer who places patient care, safety, and satisfaction at the center of their work.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Licensure: Registered Vascular Technologist And Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Required - Or Registered Vascular Specialist And Registered Cardiac Sonographer Required

Education: Graduate Cardiac Ultrasound And Graduate Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound Required Associate's Degree Cardiovascular Sonography Preferred

Experience: 1 Year Clinical - Ultrasound Required
