Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position in Elko, NV, requiring an active NV RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Job Details

• Work in the 7-bed ICU of a Joint Commission accredited hospital,
• Adult and geriatric patient population,
• Patient ratios of 2:1 for higher acuity ICU patients and 5:1 for medical-surgical overflow,
• Uses IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry, and bedside monitoring equipment,
• EHR system is Med Host,
• 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM,
• Weekend coverage required on a rotating, as-needed basis,
• Floats to other units when unit is on standby,
• On-call staff must report to work within 30 minutes of being called,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (NV or Compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA certifications required),
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Preferred experience with ART lines, central lines, ventilators, BIPAP, post cardiac cath lab care, post-surgical care, moderate sedation, chest tube management, electrolyte management, and telemetry,
• Experience treating COPD, CHF, respiratory failure, overdose, alcohol withdrawal, DKA, STEMI, AMI, and stroke patients preferred,
• Independent, self-motivated, and able to manage time well,
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration,
• Active licensure verification via Nursys required at time of consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult and geriatric ICU patients,
• No specific scrub color required,
• Weekly Monday orientations offered,
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate,
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months,
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment,
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
