Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact RN license, 1+ year of ER experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a busy Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric patients
• Department includes Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage areas with 11 hallway beds and 29 standard beds for a total of 40
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks with shift start times of 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
• Floating to different campuses required
• Must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic EMR (preferred)

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies
• Perform procedures such as chest tube setup/care, RSI, trach care, cardioversion/defibrillation, CRRT/dialysis, and 12-lead EKGs
• Administer breathing treatments and manage rapid infusers and cooling/warming blankets
• Non-holiday DTO is limited to 5 days per week, with additional time added to the end of the contract; requests beyond 5 days require manager consideration
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
• Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
