Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II (Flexi)

Overview Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, VA, is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for a PRN/Flexi, Rotating Shift. Work Location & Schedule Location: Suffolk, VA Shift: Rotating (PRN/Flexi) Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in an ambulatory setting under the direction of a qualified physician. Conduct general diagnostic ultrasound studies, including scanning patients to demonstrate correct anatomy/pathology, operating sonography equipment and electronic radiology systems, preparing patient rooms/equipment/medications, and maintaining sufficient supply inventory. Explain examinations and procedures to patients and complete departmental documentation. Use and log infection control equipment. Education Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, a related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry board (Required). Certification & Licensure ARDMS or ARRT certification (Required). BLS certification.
