T.L. Cannon Companies is proud to be a franchisee of Applebee’s, a casual dining restaurant chain with over 1,900 restaurants!  We have successfully operated Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants across NY, CT, and PA for more than 30 years! 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional supporting our restaurant teams throughout Central NY to CT. This home office-based position is highly field-focused, requiring approximately 80% travel and a strong presence in our restaurants. WHAT’S THE JOB?   As our HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST you’ll be a Brand Ambassador and assist Managers and team members with creating and maintaining a positive culture in the restaurant.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO:   You’ll be engaged in all aspects of Human Resources at T.L. Cannon – from establishing relationships with both hourly associates and management teams, to planning, implementing and executing policies, procedures, programs and practices.

You’ll show your ability to mediate and reach resolution on difficult issues. You will have an active presence in the restaurants and be an integral part of the culture at Applebee’s. As a self-driven motivated professional, you will have flexibility in your schedule to focus on building rapport with our restaurant teams via routine visits.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO: Work closely and build trusting relationships with management teams, ensure legal compliance via audits, adherence to policies, etc. You will conduct investigations while keeping all information confidential.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of HR experience (restaurant or retail preferred).
• Strong employee relations experience mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of compliance and local and federal employee laws and regulations.
• Ability to travel frequently throughout the region (approximately 27 locations).
• Excellent computer skills (with knowledge of HR platforms preferred), interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on adaptability and confidentiality, organizational skills and time management.
