Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX.Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is looking for talented early career Software Engineers to join our team developing and supporting our Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide. We develop safety-of-life air traffic systems for mulit-national customers used for controlling and monitoring civil and military aviation traffic. This is an opportunity to learn new COTS tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus on improving your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the SW development life-cycle.What You Will Learn and Do:Make complex fixes to solve problems or create significant enhancements with guidance from Subject Matter Experts in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Product Line software.Update SW process documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED’s high maturity level software engineering standards and processes.Participate in agile processes and procedures to improve daily standups, sprint planning, sprint feature development, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing while using Atlassian tool suite.Work with the software team and leadership in a highly collaborative team environment, requiring frequent multi-level communication with other engineering domain team members, program management and external stakeholders.Qualifications You Must Have: Requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the STEM areas of Computer Science or Software EngineeringExperience in a Unix/Linux development environment and command line usageStrong software experience with C, C++ or JAVA programming languagesU.S. citizenship is absolutely required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.Qualifications We Prefer:Experience with Agile methodologies and GITProficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and PythonIntern experience in Software Engineering which includes exposure to various phases of the software development lifecycle Good communication skills, both written and verbal, including formal presentationsWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
