Veterinary Technician, Emergency Per Diem North Dallas Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (ND VESH) in Frisco, TX is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to provide high‑acuity emergency and critical care in a fast‑paced environment. The facility spans over 13,000 sq ft and offers advanced emergency, surgery, and specialty services. Compensation Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/CVT/RVT): $25 – $29/hr. Experienced Veterinary Technicians: $20 – $25/hr. Compensation based on experience, credentials, and skill‑set. +$2/hr. Shift Differential for partial swing shifts. Schedule Per Diem Day Shift Swing Shift Overnight Shift 3 × 12‑hour shifts per week 4 × 10‑hour shifts per week Job Description The Emergency Veterinary Technician delivers exceptional nursing care and technical support for critically ill and injured patients. The role collaborates closely with veterinarians and specialists to perform advanced diagnostics, treatment, anesthesia, and monitoring procedures while ensuring compassionate client communication. Responsibilities Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and critical care patients throughout hospitalization and recovery. Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and manage IV fluid therapy. Assist with emergency diagnostics, treatments, and supportive care procedures. Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency and surgical procedures. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and report changes in patient condition. Safely restrain and handle patients while maintaining comfort and minimizing stress. Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and patient observations in medical records. Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients regarding patient care plans. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and client education. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and treatment areas. Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred. Experienced Veterinary Technicians with a minimum of two years of veterinary experience are encouraged to apply. Emergency, specialty, or critical care experience preferred. Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, fluid therapy, and emergency patient care. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to fostering a positive team culture. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
