Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specializing in X-ray procedures for a facility located in Rockford, Illinois. This position involves performing diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and image quality. The role requires a focus on radiation protection principles and patient education, supporting accurate and efficient imaging services.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Nights; 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology; minimum of 2 years of experience; ARRT Radiography registration; IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation (if working in Illinois); approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs various radiologic procedures including diagnostic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic exams. Reviews patients clinical history and lab results, consulting with radiologists as needed. Provides patient education and positions patients to optimize imaging outcomes, respecting patient comfort. Operates imaging equipment, initiates basic life support if necessary, determines radiographic techniques, and follows ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. Uses radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, staff, and self. Documents safety incidents, processes images, reviews for quality, and manages records using radiology information systems and PACS. Assists with medical record and image sharing. Prepares contrast media and helps administer as needed. Provides instruction to radiography students and new technologists. Ensures patient and staff safety during procedures and operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating and emergency rooms. Assists radiologists with fluoroscopic and specialized X-ray exams. Adjusts and coordinates patient and staff schedules as required. Demonstrates expert knowledge of electronic medical records, PACS, and imaging equipment.
