Environmental Health and Safety Engineer Collaborate with innovative 3M employees worldwide to support the site’s environmental, health and safety initiatives. Impact You’ll Make in this Role As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer you will tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Your impact will include: Provide technical expertise in industrial hygiene, safety, and process safety management. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and 3M environmental, health and safety expectations. Monitor regulatory trends that could impact site operations. Investigate workplace incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective actions. Assess high‑hazard processes to reduce risk. Participate in site‑wide EHS initiatives and projects to increase program effectiveness. Support design and installation of new or modified equipment through Management of Change. Your Skills and Expertise Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed prior to start. Five (5) years of EHS experience in a private, public, government or military environment, including internship experience. Preferred qualifications Seven (7) or more years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Master’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or EHS discipline. Professional certifications such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Experience with process hazard analysis, comprehensive exposure assessment and management systems, and EHS management systems. Knowledge of state and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Strong self‑direction, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills, and organizational abilities. Location and Travel Work location: Hartford City, IN. Travel: up to 15% domestic. Relocation assistance: may be authorized. Compensation & Benefits The expected compensation range is $122,292 – $149,468, including base pay and variable incentive pay. Eligible candidates may receive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, dependent care flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, life insurance, voluntary benefits, paid absences, and retirement benefits.
