Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. The role utilizes evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions, incorporating a variety of treatment modalities and techniques as part of the rehabilitation plan.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic interventions including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Effectively communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with the healthcare team.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.

Schedule

This position operates during days with an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice.
• New graduates may be considered if they have completed Level II internship experience.
