Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, allowing our Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide services from anywhere while maintaining an optimal work-life balance. Our organization leverages advanced telehealth technology to facilitate seamless client interactions, ensuring that every session is as effective and supportive as an in-person appointment. You will work flexible hours, primarily during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to gauge the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms on clients, employing clinical evaluation techniques that ensure holistic understanding.
• Collaborate with clients to formulate personalized treatment plans, integrating their specific needs, preferences, and goals into a structured therapeutic approach.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address mood disorders, ensuring interventions are both effective and tailored.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, demystifying mood disorders and empowering them with knowledge about treatment options and self-care strategies.
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed, utilizing appropriate metrics to ensure alignment with therapeutic goals.
• Engage in collaborative care by liaising with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and session notes, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines at all times.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to enhance therapeutic competencies and contribute to the overall growth of our practice.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs, actively working to destigmatize mood disorders within the community.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York is essential for this role.
• Demonstrated proficiency in delivering evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly CBT and DBT, is crucial for success.
• Must possess a strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to work collaboratively with psychiatrists to optimize client outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to build rapport with clients and engage in optimally effective therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing telehealth services is preferred, along with a solid background in working with mood disorders.
