Registered Nurse – Medical ICU (MICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting within a short-term acute care, teaching facility
• Monitor, assess, and respond to critically ill patients in accordance with unit protocols and standards of care
• Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using EPIC electronic health records
• Float to sister facilities within the health system as needed to meet staffing demands (up to 3 locations within approximately 20 miles)
• Complete all required pre-start and annual compliance modules in a timely manner prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of MICU experience required
• Active, unrestricted RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current AHA or Red Cross BLS certification required at time of submittal
• Current ACLS certification required at time of submittal
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to assignment start date
• Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of MICU experience preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records charting system
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and pharmacology assessments
