Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Patient Access Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients, staff, and third-party payers by efficiently managing patient access and revenue cycle tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle pre-registration for all patient types, ensuring no duplicate medical record or account numbers are created. This includes collecting demographic and insurance information via phone or during pre-procedure encounters, entering data accurately, and preparing patient packets.
• Manage patient registrations by scanning insurance cards, verifying and entering demographic and insurance data, assembling necessary documentation, coordinating room assignments with nursing units, obtaining required signatures, and guiding patients to appropriate departments.
• Follow up on special cases such as infectious patients and provide all patients with informational brochures about their rights and responsibilities.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires and ensure all registrations are reviewed and accurate before billing.
• Process patient transfers and discharges, and conduct follow-ups on Medicaid eligibility and required documentation.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a focus on office skills. Vocational training or on-the-job experience in computer operations and switchboard use is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare business office procedures is advantageous. Work schedule includes a 4th shift with 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays. This role offers a warm, supportive environment in a regional healthcare setting.
