This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting and audit preparation.What You'll DoPerform full-charge bookkeeping functions.Process accounts payable invoices and check payments.Prepare and post journal entries.Reconcile daily sales, credit card transactions, and bank accounts.Generate invoices and process accounts receivable activities.Maintain financial records and filing systems.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare reports related to vehicle sales, rag sales, and other business activities.Support audit preparation and respond to requests from internal auditors.Process and track vehicle donations.Monitor compliance with accounting procedures and financial controls.Prepare vendor information for annual 1099 reporting.Work closely with the Senior Accountant and Director of Business to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Training Provided• Paid training on store operations and procedures• Ongoing leadership coaching and support• Opportunities to expand bookkeeping and financial reporting skills.Why Join UsMission-driven work that supports life-changing community programs.Supportive and collaborative team environment.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Employee Assistance Program and additional employee benefits.RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Valid Driver License with ability to drive on behalf of The Salvation Army per policyMinimum of two years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to analyze data and identify trends.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Must pass all applicable background checkPreferred• Accounting Certificate or Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
