Under the general directions of the Cafeteria Supervisor, the Cashier receives rings on and balances cash receipts against register tape for cafeteria charges and vending machines. Works as a team player in providing high-quality food and customer service in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key responsibilities include:
• Sets up Menu Boardand records the voice mail lunch menu message for the day
• Ensures that each customers receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer. Assists customers by providing any information pertinent to menu options, payment and prices of food, take out service, operation hours, portion control. Manages customer complaints by listening to concerns and respond effectively in a timely manner, thus generating happier customers
• Changes date on Cafeteria computer program downloads daily menus on DFM point of sale system. Accurately and efficiently ring on sales items. Record transactions in the cashier's log and collect receipts from cashier
• Restocks float for the day, evening & weekend cash boxes and vending machines; by completing float cash form, and submitting to supervisor on a weekly basis or as required
• Ensures the cash register is locked at all times when it is unattended and lock float. Ensure all items are put away in fridge, coolers, deep freezers and cupboards and are locked. Keys are locked in the Supervisors office drawer
• Additional duties due to staff shortages, unanticipated increased catering activity, etc. may be requested to perform other duties within the cafeteria to support the business
• Reconciles breakfast, lunch and vending machine cash intake, and secures 2 records for cafeteria "Cash Report Form" and for Cashier records


Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• High school certificate or GED
• Computer literate
• 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to cashier duties and responsibilities as listed in the advertisement
• Excellent customer service skills and basic math and percentages skill testing


Schedule :Minimum 14 hours per week


Salary Grade: BP11-13 - $35.37 per hour
