Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 x 12 Mid/Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Active RN License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will be required to assess patients upon admission using appropriate interview techniques. This includes obtaining past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. They will be involved in the planning and implementation of a written care plan under the direction of a Physician. Education requirements include graduation from an approved School of Nursing. A current, valid Registered Nurse License is required. All RNs must perform essential job functions and meet qualifications. Registered Nurses working in specialty areas must meet requirements for those specialties. Essential Job Functions include: Assessment: Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration: Requires visual acuity and hand-eye coordination. Communication/Documentation: Maintains confidentiality and can communicate verbally and in writing. Patient Safety: Able to meet standards of job analysis. Interpersonal: Interacts positively with team members and patients. Respects patients' culture, lifestyle, religion, and age when planning or implementing care. Accepts constructive criticism and channels emotional reactions in a positive manner. Qualifications include clinical experience preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization is encouraged. Certification in a specialty is preferred.
