Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students in a vibrant educational setting near Conover, NC. This opportunity focuses on providing specialized instruction and advocacy for middle and high school learners with unique educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum and students requiring adapted or resource curriculum support.

You will join a dynamic team dedicated to helping every student achieve their highest potential. The contract runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm, allowing up to 40 working hours each week. Your caseload will consist of 15–18 students, giving you the chance to provide individualized attention and personalized instruction.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current licensure in Adapted Curriculum required for Discovery School assignment
• Experience in special education for middle and high school levels strongly preferred
• Confident developing, implementing, and tracking IEPs for students with various needs
• Capable of managing diverse caseloads, including high-functioning autism and inclusion/resource students
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and motivating classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver adapted curriculum or resource/inclusion support, as assigned
• Design and adapt lesson plans using extended content standards
• Monitor and document progress, implementing data-based interventions
• Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff
• Create a positive, structured, and safe learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school team activities
