Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Manager role based in Owensboro, KY. The Service Manager oversees daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and coordination between service advisors, technicians, and parts personnel. Responsibilities include monitoring repair quality, ensuring timely completion of work, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness in the service area. The role manages customer communication from intake to delivery, addresses concerns, provides repair explanations, and promotes recommended maintenance and services. The Service Manager also tracks department performance, manages budgets and KPIs, supports warranty and compliance requirements, and contributes to staff training, coaching, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive service management or a related leadership role within a dealership or service center.
• Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
• Ability to manage workflows, prioritize tasks, and oversee multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of automotive repair processes, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards; ASE or OEM certifications are a plus.
• Experience with dealership management systems (DMS), service scheduling systems, and basic office software.
• Demonstrated skills in team leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and departmental KPIs, including service revenue and customer satisfaction metrics.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or business education preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Owensboro, KY, including some evenings or weekends based on business needs.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
