As a Coffee Shop Barista, this position will be responsible for reviewing and filling customer orders for the day, handling food in a safe manner and ensuring the work area is always clean and neat. Additionally you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Reporting relations include accountability to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Director; Coffee Shop Department Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, handling food in a safe manner, ensuring the work area is clean and neat, reviewing the status and appearance of the food for freshness, ensuring an adequate food supply is ready and on hand, preparing and replenishing product as necessary, running the department registers, maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress, and adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include washing dishes, ordering product and supplies, pricing products for customers, assisting in other areas of store as needed, and performing other job related duties and special projects as required.

Education and experience requirements include less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related work experience. Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, visual requirements, and the ability to perform various physical activities. Working conditions include exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals/solvents, and possible electrical shock and temperature extremes. Equipment used includes standard tools and equipment used in a coffee shop environment.
