Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / Operating Room (OR)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (12 Weeks) | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM | On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions prior to procedures
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgical procedures
• Simultaneously manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout procedures
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
• Respond to on-call requirements as needed outside of standard scheduled hours

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Must not be local to the facility — local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a fast-paced acute care or hospital-based operating room environment
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously within the sterile field
