The Sr. Systems Technician designs, builds, and maintains interactive visual management systems and lab automation solutions that modernize a hardware-focused lab environment. This role creates real-time digital dashboards, web applications, and integrated workflows that provide at-a-glance visibility into build status, inventory, ticketing, test station utilization, and quality metrics. By bridging lab engineering operations with modern software tools, the Sr. Systems Technician transforms the lab into a digitally connected, visually managed, and automation-enabled workspace that supports multiple LRU programs and next-generation hardware validation.

• Design and deploy real-time digital dashboards and large-format display applications that provide at-a-glance visibility into LRU build status from kitting through integration, test, and delivery.
• Create web-based portals and visual management tools that show parts ordering and inventory status, including order placement, estimated arrival times, receipt, and stock levels.
• Develop live feeds from ticketing systems such as SIM and JIRA to display open items, assignments, ticket aging, and resolution status in a clear, actionable format.
• Implement real-time status views for test station availability and utilization across OGAT, OZAD, and other test venues to support efficient scheduling and throughput.
• Build dashboards and reports that surface quality and FRACAS metrics, including failure trends, root cause analysis status, and corrective action tracking.
• Develop automated workflows that reduce manual data entry and handoffs, such as auto-populating build travelers, triggering parts reorders, and escalating aging tickets.
• Create scripts, bots, or lightweight applications that integrate inventory systems, test databases, ticketing tools, and other data sources into unified, coherent views.
• Implement barcode and RFID scanning integrations to support tool control, parts tracking, and asset management within the lab environment.
• Build automated weekly and monthly reporting for lab metrics, including throughput, cycle time, defect rates, and station uptime.
• Develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and database solutions tailored to lab operations and hardware workflows.
• Leverage technologies such as Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, React, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud services to build reliable and scalable lab software tools.
• Integrate lab software solutions with internal tools and platforms such as QuickSight, SIM, JIRA, internal wikis, and data pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD practices for lab software tools to ensure reliability, maintainability, and rapid iteration.
• Champion a state-of-the-art lab aesthetic and user experience by creating clean digital signage, intuitive interfaces, and professional visual standards for all displays and applications.
• Collaborate closely with lab engineers and technicians to understand pain points and design solutions that genuinely improve daily workflows and operational efficiency.
• Establish standardized templates and design systems for lab displays, reports, and dashboards to promote consistency and ease of use.
• Create self-service tools that empower lab team members to pull data, generate reports, and access key metrics without requiring engineering support.
• Support prototype hardware builds, mechanical assembly, cabling, and integration activities as needed to align software solutions with real-world lab operations.
• Contribute to the transformation of the lab from a traditional hardware environment into a digitally connected, visually managed, and automation-enabled workspace.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or IT systems integration.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with modern web development frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or similar.
• Experience working with databases, including SQL and NoSQL, and familiarity with data integration and ETL concepts.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and system integration patterns.
• Experience designing and developing interactive visual management systems or digital dashboards.
• Ability to develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and database solutions tailored to operational environments.
• Experience integrating data from inventory systems, test databases, ticketing tools, and other enterprise platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate operational pain points into practical technical solutions.

• Familiarity with dashboard and visualization tools such as QuickSight, Grafana, Tableau, Power BI, or custom visualization solutions.
• Experience in a lab, manufacturing, or hardware engineering environment, particularly supporting LRUs and test station operations.
• Experience with barcode and RFID systems and asset tracking solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, IoT, and CloudWatch.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar production tracking platforms.
• Experience building real-time data pipelines and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with visual management principles such as Lean practices, Andon systems, and Gemba boards.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Background in UX/UI design for operational or industrial applications, with an emphasis on intuitive interfaces and clear visual communication.
• Hands-on experience with prototype hardware builds, mechanical assembly, cabling, and working with mechanical, electrical, optical, and fiber optics components.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced lab environment.

This role is based onsite in a hardware-focused lab environment in Redmond, WA. The lab supports critical functions for multiple LRUs, including test station operations, FRACAS and root cause analysis work, qualification campaigns, and next-generation LRU validation. You will work closely with a team of more than sixteen engineers and technicians across consolidated development labs that support multiple LRU programs. The environment combines traditional hardware activities—such as prototype builds, mechanical and electrical work, cabling, and optical and fiber optics handling—with modern software, data, and visualization tools. The lab is evolving toward a digitally connected, visually managed, and automation-enabled workspace, featuring large-format digital signage, intuitive web portals, and integrated data pipelines. Dress is appropriate for a hands-on lab setting, with attention to safety and professionalism. This is a Contract position based out of REDMOND, WA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
