DCFS Visitation Specialist

Position Overview As a DCFS Driver at Destiny Transportation, you will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for children and families involved in the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) program. Your role is integral to supporting families by ensuring clients reach their destinations safely and securely. Key Responsibilities Safely transport children, parents, and other family members to and from scheduled appointments, visitations, court hearings, or other designated locations. Follow predetermined routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Ensure all passengers are secured using appropriate safety regulations and follow all traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any maintenance issues or incidents immediately to the supervisor. Maintain a calm, patient, and professional demeanor while working with children and families in potentially stressful or emotional situations. Protect client confidentiality and adhere to DCFS policies and procedures. Accurately document transportation activities, including pick‑up and drop‑off times, mileage logs, and any incidents that occur during transit. Submit daily reports and ensure all records are complete and up to date. Maintain clear and open communication with the scheduling team, caseworkers, and other stakeholders regarding trip details or any challenges. Inform the appropriate parties of schedule delays or changes promptly. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Reliable personal vehicle with current registration and insurance. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by DCFS. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with children and families is preferred but not required. Work Environment Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varied schedules, including evenings or weekends as needed. Compensation Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use. Driver must observe changes or problems in the household and provide accurate, timely written and verbal reports; must adhere to approved days and hours as assigned and commit to clients upon acceptance of assignment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
