Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in a healthcare facility located in Rome, Georgia. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity setting, supporting a diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, surgical, and trauma patients. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to clinical standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, with a start date of 10/05/2026 and end date of 01/02/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Nursing Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neurological Assessment Certification (NIHSS). Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care or similar high-acuity setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is preferred.
• Support within the Department: Availability of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Respiratory Therapists, Phlebotomists, Educators, Staffing specialists, Timekeeper/Payroll specialists, Safety sitters, Virtual Patient Observers, Virtual RN, and Security personnel.
• Technology/Equipment: Use of EPIC electronic medical records, glucometers (Glucommander), cardiac monitors, specialty beds, alarms, BiPAP ventilators, Alaris pumps, and other department-specific equipment.
• Floats: Support may be required across all med-surg and critical care areas, including Emergency Department (ED) boarders.
• Orientation: First week includes New Employee Orientation (NEO), followed by 2-3 days of departmental training on the unit.
• Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation; occasional on-call shifts during low census periods; approximately 70% holiday coverage.
• Other Notes: Scrub color is navy. Parking is free. The department fosters a teamwork-oriented culture emphasizing communication, timely response to patient needs, and shared responsibility.
