Paws and Claws Pet Sitting is a professional pet care company serving the South Bay/Silicon Valley area. We provide dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight care to 200+ families who trust us to care for their pets like family. We're an established, growing business (not a startup!) with a team of 9+ pet care professionals, a strong reputation in the community, and big plans for the future. 

We're looking for a manager who wants to grow WITH us. We are looking to hire by October 20, 2026. NOTE: Must live within 15 miles of Sunnyvale, Mountain View and/or San Jose. Applicants outside the area won't be considered.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're hiring an Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our pet care team. This is a leadership and administrative role (not a pet sitting role). You'll be the person our team turns to, our clients rely on, and who our owner partners with to keep the business running smoothly and growing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Team Management

• Manage daily scheduling and coordinate service coverage for all clients
• Serve as the first point of contact for team questions, schedule changes, and coverage issues
• Help recruit, interview, and onboard new team members
• Handle team performance conversations and documentation
• Conduct team check-ins via Zoom

Client Relations

• Manage client communications, including new inquiries, schedule changes, and service questions
• Handle client concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Conduct intake calls and onboarding for new and prospective clients
• Monitor client satisfaction and flag any issues that need attention

Operations & Systems

• Oversee daily operations using our pet sitting software, Time To Pet
• Ensure all visits are completed as required, and policies are followed
• Follow and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Provide the Owner with weekly updates on team performance, client status, and operational highlights

WHO YOU ARE

Required:

• 2+ years of management, supervisory, or team lead experience (any industry)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfortable with scheduling/CRM software, email, and basic spreadsheets
• A genuine love for animals (this is non-negotiable!)

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience in the pet care, veterinary, or animal services industry
• Experience managing remote or field-based teams
• Familiarity with pet sitting business software (Time To Pet, Pet Sitter Plus, Precise Petcare, etc.)
• Experience with hiring and onboarding new team members

SCHEDULE

Part-time, 10-15 hours per week to start, with email checks 3-4 times per day, Monday-Friday (occasional weekend availability for emergencies) .  Hours are likely to increase to 15-20 hours per week as responsibilities and client volume grow. 

Location: Remote, MUST be familiar with the geography of the South Bay/Silicon Valley

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Pay: $25/hr to start; $28/hr once full responsibilities are demonstrated
