Material Handler - 1st Shift

Amerhart is currently hiring for a Material Handler for our Edwardsville, IL (STL) facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical. Hourly Pay of $22/hour + Full benefits 1st Shift hours are from 7:30am CST till work is finished for the day.

Essential Functions:

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc. Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping. Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
• Performance of Miscellaneous Functions: Fill orders for incoming customers. Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard. Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations. Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years warehouse experience required with some experience with FLAT BED loading and unloading.
• Neat and clean appearance. Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
