Research Associate I - Guzman Lab - Department of Neurology

Job Description Department of Neurology at Cedars‑Sinai is looking for a qualified Research Associate I to join Dr. Samuel Guzman, MD’s team. This culture of commitment, passion, and dedication is a hallmark of Cedars‑Sinai. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Perform a variety of laboratory tasks and procedures. Assist with animal husbandry. Maintain lab equipment and related records. Transport, process, and log samples. Maintain a computer database with relevant clinical information. Perform lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization. Maintain stocks of general lab materials, place orders for equipment and supplies. Assist new students and fellows in the laboratory. Department‑Specific Duties and Responsibilities Assist with human brain dissections and tissue freezing. Perform manual immunohistochemistry and other staining procedures. Process and prepare human tissue. Manage internal/external tissue requests and generate usage reports. Perform data entry, sample tracking, and QC documentation in REDCap. Contribute to workflow development and continuous process improvement. Conduct spatial transcriptomics workflows. Assist with microscopy, imaging, and data generation. Support day‑to‑day lab operations and related projects. May assist with manuscripts or grant materials. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences required. Solid understanding of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software. Understanding of general research objectives and experience with routine laboratory procedures and experimental protocols. Must possess digital literacy.
