Die Maker Journeyperson - Marion

The Role General Motors is seeking qualified Die Maker Journeypersons. Working under minimal supervision, the Die Maker Journeyperson is responsible for building, repairing, remodeling, and maintaining all types of dies using various materials. Primary Responsibilities: Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company policies. Fabricate and repair dies for production, including welding operations. Read blueprints for die repair and fabrication. Perform die repairs using mills, lathes, grinders, and hand tools. Make in-press repairs of dies and tooling. Conduct die tryout duties as required. Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, and micrometers for die repair and fabrication. Operate equipment such as hi-los and overhead cranes to transport dies and heavy machinery. Document and record data pertinent to departmental activities.
