Project accountant

We have partnered with a premier, rapidly growing commercial services and mechanical infrastructure company that is undergoing a major financial transformation. The company has recently transitioned its core business and financial operations out of SAM Pro (Data-Basics) and into Oracle NetSuite. They are seeking a sharp, investigative GL Accountant to join their team. This role is uniquely structured to start on a part-time basis (5 hours per day), giving you the runway to master their system architecture, dive deep into the data, and successfully ramp into a full-time position as you hit key performance milestones.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive reconciliations between newly migrated NetSuite data and historical SAM Pro records to ensure data integrity and clean baseline balances.
• Research, trace, and resolve variances arising from data mapping mismatches, work order conversion differences, or work-in-progress (WIP) tracking discrepancies between the two platforms.
• Own the reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts-including cash, intercompany transactions, deferred revenue, and accrued liabilities-ensuring clear, auditable trails.
• Partner with the Controller to design, document, and implement streamlined, automated reconciliation workflows to accelerate the month-end close cycle in NetSuite.
• Assist in refining NetSuite workflows, job-costing tracking, and user permissions to safeguard financial data integrity moving forward.
• Prepare and post precise month-end journal entries, complex accruals, and support external audit preparation.
