Basic Purpose As a CAD Designer, you will play a crucial role in executing design work for new construction, capital maintenance, and system enhancements. This involves initiating projects, preparing innovative design solutions, estimating costs, and managing contracts. You will establish valuable project-specific relationships, guiding customers smoothly through our New Business Process. Your focus will be on identifying the needs and expectations of customers for electric and/or gas utility designs while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of company standards, tariffs, and regulations. Under the general direction of senior administrators, you will contribute significantly to our team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design solutions for expanded services and system improvements. Stay informed on all company standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements to deliver cost-effective designs and prepare preliminary estimates. Identify customer needs for electric and gas utility projects, serving as the main point of contact for developers, contractors, engineering firms, local agencies, and utilities from project inception to completion. Enhance customer satisfaction through effective communication and support. Prepare and present detailed financial agreements to customers, ensuring comprehensive and accurate contracts. Facilitate pre-construction meetings with Electric and Gas Inspectors, General Foremen, and Area Service Managers as required. May participate in the after-hours rotational on-call supervisor program and assist in restoration efforts during emergencies or storm events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
