Language Arts Teacher
Twin Falls High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Language Arts Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering a love for literature and effective communication. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student learning in reading, writing, and language skills.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, projects, and class participation, and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and English language learners.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources into lessons to enhance learning experiences.
- Foster a love for literature by introducing students to a wide range of texts, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
- Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and committees as needed to contribute to the overall success of the school community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Language Arts.
- Proven experience teaching Language Arts at the high school level is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of language arts curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance student learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for fostering student growth and success.
Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
$13 - $15 per hour
