If you want to be part of tomorrow's health today, we want to hear from you.Primary ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage assigned USON payroll populations and practices across applicable payroll frequencies, ensuring accurate and timely execution throughout the payroll cycle.Perform end-to-end payroll activities including payroll input preparation, calculation review, validation, exception resolution, reconciliation, settlement support, and post-payroll activities.Prepare, load, validate, and reconcile payroll data using Workday EIBs and other approved payroll tools and processes.Analyze payroll results and research complex discrepancies involving earnings, deductions, taxes, retroactivity, time data, employee status changes, payment elections, organizational transfers, pay rates, payroll inputs, and other payroll-impacting transactions.Execute payroll controls and exception reviews related to time and attendance, meal and time-block exceptions, one-time payments, employee status changes, company and pay-group transfers, terminations, PTO payouts, zero or low gross results, and manual or on-demand payments.Perform payroll audits and reconciliations and maintain appropriate documentation and audit evidence supporting established controls.Use Workday Payroll reporting, payroll results, worker data, EIB functionality, and related tools to research issues, validate results, and support payroll processing.Manage assigned payroll cases and practice inquiries through ServiceNow or other approved channels while meeting established service expectations.Participate in Workday testing, UAT, payroll system enhancements, release validation, process changes, and other payroll-related initiatives as assigned.Maintain and improve payroll procedures, processing documentation, checklists, job aids, SOP-supporting materials, and control documentation.Support quarter-end, year-end, audit, compliance, and other critical payroll activities.Minimum experience:3+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.Preferred:Demonstrated experience processing payroll for large and/or complex employee populations.Demonstrated experience with end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll inputs, calculations, validations, reconciliations, exception resolution, and payroll corrections.Demonstrated experience using an enterprise payroll system to independently analyze payroll results, troubleshoot complex payroll issues, execute payroll controls, and work with large data sets.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements.Demonstrated ability to research complex payroll discrepancies, identify root causes, and determine appropriate next steps.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience analyzing and reconciling large payroll data sets.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to independently prioritize multiple payroll deadlines while maintaining accuracy and control compliance.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional teams, share knowledge with peers, and adapt to changing processes and responsibilities.Workday Payroll and Workday HCM experience.Experience preparing, loading, validating, and troubleshooting Workday EIBs.Experience with Workday payroll reporting and payroll-result analysis.Multi-state payroll experience.Experience supporting multiple business units, practices, organizational structures, or payroll populations.Experience with payroll reconciliations and payroll-related financial or GL activities.Experience with ServiceNow or similar case-management systems.Experience participating in payroll testing, UAT, system implementations, enhancements, integrations, or Workday releases.Experience identifying or implementing payroll process improvements, automation, standardized controls, or other operational efficiencies.Experience training, mentoring, cross-training, or serving as a payroll subject-matter resource for peers.Key CompetenciesPayroll Knowledge: End-to-end payroll processing; multi-state compliance; payroll taxation; retroactive pay; supplemental wages; final pay; payroll corrections; reconciliations; payroll controls.Technical Skills: Enterprise payroll systems; Workday Payroll/HCM; EIB processing; payroll reporting; Microsoft Excel; ServiceNow; data analysis; testing/UAT.Behavioral Competencies: Accountability; critical thinking; technical aptitude; initiative; influence; sound judgment; attention to detail; collaboration; knowledge sharing; adaptability; continuous improvement.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
