Make a meaningful impact by supporting K-12 students as a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract opportunity spans from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027, and offers flexible options for in-person or virtual (VOCO) instruction. You'll collaborate with students and educational teams across Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake counties, helping to adapt curriculum and promote accessibility for learners with visual impairments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students with visual impairments across diverse grade levels (K-12)
- Proficiency in delivering specialized instruction both in-person and virtually
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and document progress effectively
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to modify classroom materials and provide accommodations
- Deliver direct instruction in core academic areas, adaptive technology, and daily living skills
- Assess and monitor student progress, updating goals as needed
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for families and school personnel regarding visual impairments and adaptive strategies
- Travel within the identified counties, as required by student needs (if in-person)
